We had our two week appointment with our fabulous pediatrician this morning. Rowan is now 9 lbs and 2 oz! We are trying to get him into all of his newborn onesies at least once as they are getting a bit snug on the little guy. He is a good eater and a good sleeper, so we can't complain!
We saw our Doula, Melissa, this week for the first time since his birth. She brought two discs full of pictures that she took throughout the experience and it was really neat to hear her perspective of the day! One tidbit of information that I didn't know was that Rowan's umbilical cord was wrapped around his neck twice, not just once like I had thought. That explains why he was so blue!
This week I also came down with an infection with flu-like symptoms which was not welcomed by me! Ryan was awesome, though, taking sole care of the little guy when I was stuck in bed. I have not been sick like that in years. Thankfully, the antibiotics have kicked into gear and I am feeling MUCH better.
Ryan and I are feeling pretty comfortable taking Rowan places now and he has been wonderful on all of our outings! We went over to Aunt Julie's house for a bit with my mom Grammy and got this hilarious picture with cousin Kate as both kids were losing it - boy this is only going to be more entertaining when Aunt Julie has her second baby this June! This week he also saw his "Grumple" (Grandpa and Uncle) Oscar and his family. He loved seeing Oscar's kids Lucas, Landon, and Clarisa who is going to be a great babysitter someday!!! I am taking him this Thursday to my classroom to visit my students and meet all of my co-workers. I can't wait to get a picture with him and all of the kiddos! :)
The picture of him and Kate w/Grammy is hilarious! I'm glad to hear that he's growing so well and that you are feeling better too! Can't wait to see you guys again! :)
